In Grid View, sheets can only have a maximum of 20,000 rows. Where rows keep getting added to a sheet, they will eventually stop receiving data, and a user may not be aware of this, unless they set up alerts to flag when approaching. And as sheets get larger, performance can be impacted, particularly where there are cross-sheet references
Users can have requirements to delete data after a set duration in line with data retention policies and there isn’t currently a way to automate the deletion of that data in Smartsheet, just to move and archive it, or to clear the data in a row. While Smartsheet has an automation to ‘clear cells’, this does not remove the actual row and therefore information that was in the row previously is still visible in Cell history.
With Row Deleter, you can set up rules for rows to be deleted automatically when defined triggers occur.
One less thing to worry about, hey!
