What is Smarthub? 

 

Ever thought, “If only Smartsheet could do this?” At Prodactive, we are known for pushing the boundaries with what can be achieved with Smartsheet and regularly share their innovations on our YouTube channel.  But some things need a helping hand and a bit more automagician magic…  

That’s why we’ve created Smarthub, a new web platform packed with innovative add-ons, tools, and templates designed to push Smartsheet further and help you scale smarter, faster and take your Smartsheet automation superpowers to new heights. 

It is specifically designed to enhance Smartsheet, extend use-cases and address current product limitations while the Smartsheet Product team focus their engineering teams on platform-wide requirements. 

At launch, our primary focus is to release as many Prodactive-developed add-on tools as possible in rapid succession that meet Smartsheet users’ needs, and over time open up the platform for other trusted partners and collaborators to host their tools as a virtual marketplace.   

Additionally, it will be a source of useful templates and solutions, initially designed by Prodactive and in due course submitted by Smarthub collaborators. It will also be able to host custom integrations developed for specific clients. 

 

How does it work? 

Developed by Prodactive Labs Ltd, it’s a highly secure standalone web-based platform that allows Smartsheet users connect their Smartsheet assets with an ever-growing range of custom-built tools via users’ API keys to carry out advanced automations executed in standalone script containers. 

Authorised users are granted a password-protected account that is either standalone, part of an organisation or Enterprise account. Users can then set up highly intuitive configurations with each tool to execute specific results on assets in their Smartsheet environment. 

Neither Smarthub nor Prodactive will have access to users Smartsheet environments or data as such, but rather by connecting Smarthub to a Smartsheet plan, users will be able to execute automations on their plans using Smarthub. 

 

Security & Privacy (Beta): 

Smarthub ships “secure‑by‑default” with defence‑in‑depth controls, least‑privilege access, and protections aligned to OWASP Top 10. All traffic uses HTTPS/TLS and sensitive data is encrypted at rest (AES‑256). We collect only what’s necessary, support GDPR erasure, and continuously review security with planned pen tests. How do I access it? 

Smarthub is a web-based system designed for Chrome but accessible on most modern browsers, screens, and devices. During Beta testing, access is available at www.prodactivelabs.com. Accounts are issued after onboarding and acceptance into the Beta program. Once Smartshub moves to General access, we will move users to the Production environment, which will be on a separate domain.  

Pricing 

We are committed to fair, transparent usage-based pricing, with the priority being to make Smarthub as accessible to as many users as possible to, and where loyalty and active engagement will be rewarded.  Users will ultimately be in control of their spend as they will be able to monitor usage metrics. 

One of the aims of Smarthub Beta testing is to validate our pricing model, which is based on usage, and therefore at this time we are unable to share pricing, but we are very clear the value delivered by the platform must be commensurate with the cost.  Ultimately, Smarthub is designed to remove manual effort and save users time that can be used to greater effect elsewhere in the organisation.   

 

What is Beta Testing? 

Ahead of the full general access (GA) release of Smarthub in November, we are inviting trusted contacts and clients to use the platform at no cost to evaluate it, stress test it and provide feedback so that we can continue to optimise it.  We are also seeking to understand specific use-cases and requirements so we can factor these into the development roadmap and prioritise these according to the value and impact to users. 

At this stage we are also inviting organisations that have expressed interest in some of our specific tools, such as Image-to-Cell, that we have incorporated into Smarthub to ensure ease of deployment and usability. 

We are fully confident that Smarthub is safe and secure, but as this is Beta testing, we do require Beta testers to sign Beta Testing User Agreement disclaimer that indemnifies Prodactive from any adverse results. For the duration of Beta testing, Prodactive will provide users free access to Smarthub and in return expects all testers to provide feedback and grant Prodactive permission to use that feedback to enhance the overall platform and in marketing materials, without commitment from Prodactive to act upon specific feedback. 

FAQs 

Does it store any of my data? 

• A: Smarthub collects minimal information to perform and execute.  Any sensitive information stored, such as credit card information, user demographic, organizational demopgraphic, plan demographic use HTTPS/TLS in transit, AES-GCM and 256-bit encryption at rest. 

Does it work on the EU server? 

• A:  Smarthub works in the US, EU, AUS and GOV Smartsheet environments.  This is configured at the plan level.  

How secure is it? 

• A:  Smarthub is considered an Enterprise grade solution.  While we constantly are improving security, our team is dedicated to regular security certification and penetration testing to continue to establish trust with our users. 

What if it stops working? 

• A:  We’ve developed a Help Desk to submit Low, Routine, High and Critical bugs/incidents or issues such as downtimes.  Submitting a Help Desk form is the fastest way to reach our teams in the instance of a critical issue. 

Why do I need an API Key? 

• A:  An API Key is required so Smarthub can securely connect to your organization’s Smartsheet account.  The key is tied to an individual licensed Smartsheer user, which means Smarthub will only recognize and load assets that have been shared with that user at the Admin level.  For Enterprise plans, its important to ensure the right Smartsheet user generates the API key and that all relevant assets are shared with them.  This ensures Smarthub can properly access and display everything needed once you log in.  This process is simple and is generated for each accessible tool in your user plan. 

What is the relationship between Prodactive Limited and Prodactive Labs? 

• Prodactive Limited is a software reseller and professional services provider and is the principle reseller of Smarthub, which has been developed by Prodactive Labs Limited, a business software development company.  They are independent affiliated companies under common private ownership and registered in England and Wales.
